The Ponteland Golf Course was built in 1927. The initial course was 9 holes. Further land was leased in 1930 and an 

additional 9 holes were opened in 1931. The land was purchased in September 1947 at a price agreed twenty years

previously of £6,500.

A programme of tree planting since the 70's has produced the excellent golf course we have today. It is undoubtedly one of

the most popular courses in Northumberland and is in much demand as a venue for visiting parties.
